If you’ve seen Jordan Peele’s Nope (and you should if you haven’t, it’s a great sci-fi horror movie!), you know that while many questions are answered over the course of the film, there are still a whole lotta nebulous things remaining at the end. The good news for those still digging for more details, however, is that it looks like Peele is planning to reveal more from the Nope universe in the future.
In a spoiler-full conversation with The New York Times promoting the film’s digital release, Peele successfully gave non-answers to several questions about many puzzles in the movie. In response to one of those questions—who is the “Nobody” credited on IMDb and why did he get cut from the film?—he had this tantalizing answer:
“The story of that character has yet to be told, I can tell you that. Which is another frustrating way of saying, I’m glad people are paying attention. I do think they will get more answers on some of these things in the future. We’re not over telling all of these stories.”
Does Peele’s promise that he’s not done with the world of Nope mean there might be a sequel? Peele doesn’t go quite far enough with his comment to have that be definite, though at the very least we might get some bonus features on the Blu-Ray version whenever that’s released. Here’s to hoping!
Nope is now available for digital purchase on the platform of your choice.
